In case you haven’t heard, the all-new 2017 Jeep Compass is replacing not only the previous version of the Compass, but also the Patriot compact crossover. We already knew the next-generation Compass is using the same platform as the Renegade crossover and that production of the US model will take place in Toluca, Mexico, but now we finally know how much Jeep is charging for the vehicle.

The 2017 Jeep Compass will carry a starting MSRP of $20,995, but that does not factor in the delivery fee. That price tag only applies to the entry-level Sport model with two-wheel drive. You’ll need another $1,500 to get the available all-wheel drive system.

Speaking of all-wheel drive, the 2017 Compass will offer two intelligent all-wheel drive systems, which are Jeep Active Drive and Jeep Active Drive Craw. Both of these systems are capable of sending 100% of available torque to any one wheel and both systems feature the Jeep Selec-Terrain system. This means the Compass will have up to five drive modes, including Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud, as well as Rock mode, which is only found on the Trailhawk model.

The 2017 Compass Trailhawk with all-wheel drive will feature a MSRP of $29,690.  For that price tag, consumers will get the new Compass with skid plates, 17-inch off-road tires, and unique fascias, as well as red front and rear tow hooks. Furthermore, the Trailhawk will be able to tow up to 2,000 pounds and traverse water that’s up to 19 inches deep.

Every 2017 Jeep Compass will receive power from a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. Consumers can pair that engine with their choice of either a six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, or nine-speed automatic transmission.

The 2017 Jeep Compass is scheduled to reach US dealerships in early March.

“Our all-new 2017 Jeep Compass enters an extremely important and growing segment worldwide, and does so with an unmatched list of attributes that includes benchmark 4×4 off-road capability, exceptional on-road driving dynamics, fuel-efficient powertrains, countless advanced technology and safety features, all wrapped in a premium, authentic Jeep design,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep Brand – FCA Global. “Built around the world for customers everywhere, Jeep Compass raises the bar in the compact-SUV segment.”
