2019 Chevrolet Sonic Overview

The 2019 Chevrolet Sonic is available at three trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier. All trims are offered as a sedan, but the LT and Premier are also offered as a hatchback.

What’s New for the 2019 Chevrolet Sonic?

The two largest updates to the 2019 Sonic include powertrain and color modifications. The brand’s Turbo 1.4-liter LUV engine replaces the model’s previous 1.8-liter LUW I4 base engine. This version yields more torque (148 lb-ft) than last year’s version (125 lb-ft of torque). The 2019 Sonic also loses two exterior colors — Arctic Blue Metallic and Ivy Metallic — while gaining a new neon green hue, Shock. The remote start technology now comes as part of the model’s Convenience Package.

The compact frame of the 2019 Chevrolet Sonic makes it a great companion for navigating city streets. Add on the optional 17-inch painted Black aluminum wheels and power sunroof features for extra style.

The 2019 Chevrolet Sonic is available in nine exterior colors: Summit White, Cajun Red Tintcoat, Kinetic Blue Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Nightfall Gray Metallic, Red Hot, Orange Burst Metallic, and Shock.

Performance

Agile and energetic, the 2019 Chevrolet Sonic comes standard with a ECOTEC^® 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Choose either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission, depending on your preference. The model outputs 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque for notable response on each adventure.

Efficiency

Fuel conservation is where the 2019 Sonic shines. When equipped with automatic transmission, it yields 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. Select the Sedan configuration with the six-speed manual transmission to achieve up to 38 mpg on the highway.

Interior

Despite its petite side, the 2019 Sonic boasts a plethora of technology and thoughtful details to make each drive a pleasant one. The Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with 7-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and a 12-volt auxiliary power outlet come standard on each trim level. Choose the Premier version to add on heated front seats and a Keyless Open function. The new Sonic also has sufficient room for whatever items you need to bring along. The hatchback version yields 47.7 cubic feet of trunk space, perfect for accommodating possessions, groceries, and more.
