If you’re a parent to a young athlete, you’re probably quite familiar with the huge loads of equipment that their sport involves. If you’re in the market for a new vehicle that provides adequate space for your family as well as your child’s sports gear, you’re in luck. Per USA Today, Edmunds recently rounded up five of its top picks for vehicles that will make your fast-paced life easier. It’s worth noting that the 2019 Chevy Traverse ranked on this exclusive list.

Sporty and Fun-to-Drive: Meet the 2019 Chevy Blazer

Why the 2019 Traverse

Not every parent wants to drive a minivan, as Edmunds notes. The three-row Traverse offers a more stylish, SUV alternative to becoming a minivan mom (or dad). The publication lauded the Traverse for its roomy cabin. It also happens to have the largest cargo space in its segment. It boasts 58 cubic feet of space behind the second-row seat, to store sports equipment.  Edmunds also praised the SUV for its fusion of engine potency with decent efficiency for its class. When equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 engine, the Traverse puts forth a gratifying 310 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque, while attaining 27 mpg on the highway.

More family-friendly features

These aren’t the only amenities the Traverse offers to simplify your athletic family’s life. Tri-zone automatic climate control allows backseat passengers to stay as comfortable as front-seat ones. Available all-weather floor mats will help protect the SUV’s floor from wear and tear. You can also choose the horizontal cargo net add-on, to help separate passengers from sports gear in the back. And the available rear power liftgate makes it simpler to access the contents of the trunk when your arms are full.
