2019 Nissan Pathfinder Named One of 17 Safest Midsize SUVs by US News
The stylish, advanced tech-equipped, and well-appointed 2019 Nissan Pathfinder secured a spot on U.S. News’ list of the 17 Safest SUVs. The publication’s editors praised the well-equipped midsize SUV for its safety ratings and standard safety technologies giving the 2019 Pathfinder a U.S. News Safety score of 9.2 out of 10.
“Rear parking sensors are now standard equipment for the 2019 Nissan Pathfinder,” reports U.S. News & World Report writer Kristen Hall-Geisler. “It performed well in crash tests, with an overall rating of five out of five stars from the NHTSA and Good crash test ratings from the IIHS. It received an Acceptable headlight rating and a Superior rating for front crash prevention.”
The 2019 Nissan Pathfinder is available at four trim levels — S, SV, SL, and Platinum. Each trim can be equipped with either two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. A SV Rock Creek Edition and SL Rock Creek Edition are also available.
The standard 3.5-liter V6 paired to an Xtronic CVT generates 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. The comfortable cabin features standard tri-zone automatic temperature control, a tilt-telescoping steering column, illuminated steering wheel-mounted controls, and EZ Flex seating system. Move up to the SV trim for a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat with manual lumbar. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard on the SL trim while the Platinum trim boasts heated and cooled front seats and perforated leather-appointed seats in the first and second rows.
An entertaining ride is easy in the 2019 Pathfinder thanks to the standard Bluetooth hands-free phone and streaming audio system and available Bose premium audio system with 13 speakers and Acoustic Waveguide Technology.
Automatic Emergency Braking comes standard while advanced driver assist technologies such as Intelligent Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are standard on the SV, SL, and Platinum trims.
