What’s New for the 2019 Toyota Corolla?

Not much has changed on the 2019 Toyota Corolla. The Japanese manufacturer knows not to mess with what drivers love with this compact sedan, but they have offered some minor updates, such as enhanced safety features, a new Toyota Entune™ Audio Plus system, and stylistic enhancements on the higher trims, such as a redesigned front grille on the SE and XSE models.

Performance

Every 2019 Corolla is equipped with a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i) that delivers 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. The LE Eco trim offers a slightly more powerful performance, with 140 horsepower and 126 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to a Continuously Variable Transmission with intelligence and Shift Mode (CVTi-S), though a six-speed manual is available on the SE trim.

The 2019 Toyota Corolla is just as fuel-efficient as the 2018 model, with the fuel economy remaining unchanged.
