The 2020 Cadillac XT6 boasts luxurious amenities, refined styling, and plenty of room for everyone to stretch out. In terms of size, this new member of the Cadillac family slots between the XT5 and the Escalade. You can choose between two distinct trim levels: Premium Luxury and Sport.

Exterior

If the 2020 Cadillac XT6 looks a bit familiar, that’s because it shares the same sharp styling cues as the XT4, including its vertical front and rear lights. However, the XT6 gets some prominent air intake on the front. The Premium Luxury is recognizable due to its silver accents and red taillight lenses, while the Sport trim gets black accents and clear taillight lenses. Both models come standard with 20-inch wheels, while the Sport gets available 21-inch wheels.

Interior

Inside, the XT6 shares similarities with the CT6 sedan. It boasts a new joystick-like rotary controller, standard heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. You can choose between wood and carbon fiber trim, and opt for luxuries like cooled front seats and heated second-row seats. In terms of seating, the XT6 comes standard with seven seats, although if you opt for the captain’s chairs, you’ll only have room for six passengers. Fold down the back two rows to access 78.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo room.

Performance

There’s only one engine available on the XT6: a 310-horsepower, 3.6-liter V6. This power plant comes mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission and boasts Variable Valve Timing and Active Fuel Management for greater efficiency. Thanks to the Smart Tow Trailering System, it can tow up to 4,000 pounds. Though it comes standard with front-wheel drive, an all-wheel drive configuration is available.

Safety

The XT6 comes standard with a wealth of driver-assist technology, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot warning, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning, and lane keep assist. IF you’re looking for even more confidence on the road, opt for the rear pedestrian warning, reverse automatic emergency braking, and a rear camera mirror.
