[Photos] The Ford Expedition King Ranch is Back
The new Ford Expedition is getting some notable upgrades for 2020, most namely the return of the Ford Expedition King Ranch. The mighty, luxurious, and mighty luxurious trim is returning to the lineup alongside a revamped Expedition Platinum that features new wheels and a more premium interior.
“The King Ranch name carries with it a legacy of hard work that defines the American ranching lifestyle, with the heritage and family traditions Ford Expedition represents,” said Andrew Kernahan, Expedition chief engineer. “It’s a great addition to the lineup, growing Expedition’s appeal and personality in Texas as well as with customers across the U.S. looking for western-inspired style and timeless design.”

Why in Texas specifically, you ask? Well, because everything’s bigger in Texas, and the 2020 Ford Expedition King Ranch is mighty big in many ways. The Expedition King Ranch boasts Stone Gray-painted exterior details on the grille, hitch cover, and lower bumpers among other things, setting it apart from the Expedition Platinum. Unique badging and 22-inch six-spoke painted machine-finished aluminum wheels with dark tarnish-painted pockets further the distinction, giving the SUV a bold look.
Inside, the Ford Expedition King Ranch gets extended Del Rio leather across all three rows, door trim, and on the steering wheel — the latter of which boasts Kingsville stitching. The center console features a Ziricote wood veneer for that extra kiss of luxury, while Running W-logoed seatbacks in all three rows ensure a premium feeling throughout the cabin.
The 2020 Expedition Platinum is no slouch with new 22-inch wheels and interior upgrades including a leather-wrapped instrument panel top and Wollsdorf leather-wrapped steering wheel with Pecan contrast stitching.
Throughout the 2020 Ford Expedition lineup, Ford Co-Pilot360, Ford Pass Connect, and SYNC 3 are standard.
