Nissan Bringing 2020 Vision Gran Turismo to Goodwood
Back on June 6, Andy Palmer, vice president of Nissan, issued the following tweet in regards to the upcoming, as-then-yet-revealed NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo:
think it’s worth coming to Goodwood???? http://t.co/29D9OOo1jO
— Andy Palmer (@NissanAndy) June 6, 2014
When the concept inspired by the legacy of the Gran Turismo series missed its June 10 reveal date, we mused that Nissan might just hold off in order to show off a real build of their virtual creation at the Festival of Speed. While the concepts that the Vision GT program have generated are largely digital only creations, the idea of rendering the car in real life is not without precedent and, given the ties between the 2020 and the next-gen GT-R, it wouldn’t be too surprising.
Though Nissan made good on their promise and delivered our first look at the 2020 Vision Gran Turismo that following Monday, Palmer’s tweet hung like a loose end. That is, until today, when it was announced that Nissan is totally bringing a full-size, real life version of the 2020 Vision Gran Turismo to Goodwood tomorrow.

Just in case you can’t wait until tomorrow, Nissan also released the following in-game footage of their 2020 Vision Gran Turismo tearing up the track in Gran Turismo 6.

And because Nissan clearly loves vagueness, they suggested that the “first” physical representation of the 2020 may not be the last:
Will a production version be driven up the Goodwood hill in 2020? That remains to be seen, but a great deal can happen in the near future. And in the meantime, enthusiasts can enjoy its dramatic looks and spectacular virtual performance from the comfort of their armchair.
The NISSAN CONCEPT 2020 Vision Gran Turismo should be downloadable in Gran Turismo 6 next month. For more on its Goodwood appearance, as well as the latest news out of the Festival of Speed, stay tuned to The News Wheel.
