In case you missed it, there’s a new Ford F-150 coming, and it’s got, like, a whole bunch of dope stuff going on. Ford’s getting the word out about its truck that at least a few people have heard of with the Built for America multi-city tour. Ford kicked it all off earlier this month at Kansas City Assembly Plant, marking the start of production on the 2021 F-150 and pulling focus to the people who build it.

“Here in Missouri, Ford employs more than 7,250 salaried and hourly employees,” said Ford Motor Company Vice President of North American Manufacturing John Savona, who was among the speakers at the tour kickoff. “Our manufacturing operations support 93 suppliers, and our dealership network is more than 100 strong, directly employing 4,600 Missouri residents and supporting another 3,500 jobs across local communities.”
Ford donates 250K medical-grade masks on PPE Day
Ford continued to celebrate the Kansas City community with Personal Protective Equipment Day. Keeping with its theme of generosity during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ford filled F-150 truck beds with boxes of medical-grade face masks. The masks ultimately found their way to The Guadalupe Centers of Greater Kansas City, a nonprofit that works to improve conditions for the Latinx community. According to Savona, Ford donated a quarter-million masks on PPE Day in celebration of the community and the Missouri-built Ford F-150.
The all-new 2021 Ford F-150 hits showrooms around the country later this fall, and it promises to be a doozy. In addition to a class-exclusive PowerBoost full hybrid V6 option, the F-150 will deliver best-in-class towing and payload with its 3.5-liter EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 and 5.0-liter V8, respectively. Ford has also announced it will start production on an all-electric version of the F-150 at its Rouge Center in mid-2022.
