Canada is teeming with gorgeous landscapes — which become even more stunning during the fall. Here’s a guide to a few breathtaking road-trip destinations around Ontario.

Agawa Canyon
Although traditionally traversed via railway tour, you can bask in the beauty of Agawa Canyon from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle. Simply take Highway 101 to Highway 17, down the coast of Lake Superior, then loop back to your starting point by following Highway 129. This spectacular journey will give you more than a canyon tour — it’ll take you through historic Sault Ste. Marie, Lake Superior Provincial Park, and Little White River Provincial Park.
Algonquin Park
Whether you’re looking to hike or drive, Algonquin Park offers plenty of dramatic fall foliage. The 35-mile stretch of Highway 60 offers breathtaking views of maple trees, rolling hills, and even the occasional moose. If you’re feeling ambitious, explore the interior of the park via its 14 hiking trails or stay at one of the park’s eight campgrounds.
Dundas Peak
The Dundas Valley Conservation Area, located near Hamilton, is one of Ontario’s premier destinations to see fall colors. With an extensive network of hiking trails, equestrian trails, and even some ruins to explore, you’re bound to make plenty of family memories. The renowned Dundas Peak provides breathtaking views of the vibrant landscape. Just be careful when snapping a selfie — more than a few visitors have gotten injured by stumbling over the precipitous point.
If you don’t feel like stepping out of your vehicle, you can still enjoy the scenery. Nearby Hamilton is known as the city of waterfalls, and for good reason. The Hamilton area boasts plenty of roadside waterfalls. Plus, you can’t go wrong with a cruise down Queen Street, Beckett Drive, and Garth Street, which are locally renowned for their stunning views.
