Whether you prefer short day-trips or longer road-trips, driving to new destinations is a great way to beat midsummer boredom. While South Carolina boasts quite a few scenic locations to drive to, you can also head to a classic car show to help feed your passion for vehicles. Here are three auto-themed events in the Palmetto State worth attending this season.

Midlands SC Muscle & Classic Car Group Cruise In – July 27
This auto-themed evening event runs from 5-7 p.m. on July 27. It also has free admission and no entry fees. Per the event’s Facebook page, the cruise-in will be held at the Sonic Drive-In on 1624 Wilson Road in Newberry.
Little Mountain Reunion Car Show – Aug. 3
The car show at Little Mountain Elementary School on Aug. 3 is one of the highlights of the Little Mountain Reunion, one of the state’s longest-running folk festivals. Catch the parade which begins at 10 a.m. as it passes along Main Street through downtown, ending at Reunion Park. Browse the cars on display and snack on food-truck fare. This year’s live music acts include Backline Blue Grass Band, Tokyo Joy, Carolina Blues, and Cash Money.
The Palmetto Cruise-In – Aug. 24
Head to Pageland on Aug. 24 for a day filled with car-themed fun. Besides browsing classic cars, you can also enjoy raffles, live music, and food vendors. Age-appropriate activities will keep children pleasantly engaged. Registration starts at 8 a.m., the judging ceremony is at noon, and the awards ceremony is at 2 p.m.
