Joey “saves” Ross when their car backfires

Throughout the series, Joey has quite a few “bro-mantic” moments with his Ross and Chandler — like the one in Season 5 Episode 20. Joey, Ross, and Chandler go on a ride-along with Phoebe’s new police officer boyfriend, Gary. Suddenly, the car backfires. In a slow-motion shot, Joey throws himself over Ross to shield him from harm — while Chandler expresses dismay at being abandoned in the “crisis.”

Rachel and Ross get pulled over

In Season 7 Episode 22, both Rachel and Ross take turns driving Monica’s car. Each of them gets pulled over for traveling over and under the speed limit, respectively. Though both try to flirt themselves out of their tickets, only Rachel is successful. Ross’s awkwardness overtakes him and he has to pay his ticket for driving too slowly.

Joey really wants a luxury car

Season 6 Episode 5 portrays Joey’s obsession with owning a luxury car. The episode starts with Joey admiring, then polishing a stranger’s car. He then pretends like it’s his, both for the sake of bragging rights and to attract female attention. The episode culminates with Joey hiding cardboard boxes under a tarp, to give the appearance that he still owns the swanky ride.

Phoebe drives Ross to the airport

In the show’s finale, Phoebe shows herself to be the very worst taxi driver with a very unsafe cab. Not only is her car missing seatbelts, but Phoebe reassures Ross that he’ll simply get ejected from the taxi cab if they crash and the engine explodes. She also yells at an unwanted passenger that accidentally thinks she’s a professional taxi driver and gets inside the car. (Though, granted, she was trying to rush Ross to the airport in time to prevent Rachel’s departure to Paris.)
