If you’re in the market for a new vehicle that will easily accommodate your dog (or dogs), here are four Chevrolet models you should consider.

Need New Tread? Know when it’s time to replace your tires

Traverse

This mid-size SUV has ample room for bringing along your dogs. With the third-row seats folded, it boasts a maximum cargo volume of 98.2 cubic feet. Smart Slide seating will make it easier to remove the back seats when you need to make room for your pets. And with the hands-free liftgate, it will be easier to load and unload the crate from the back of the SUV.

Tahoe

If you need a bit more space for passengers and pets, and prefer a more energetic ride quality, go with the Tahoe. It can accommodate up to eight passengers when all of the seats are upright. Fold both rear seats flat to take advantage of 94.7 cubic feet of cargo space. This capacity is useful if you frequently transport just your dogs and one other passenger. Even when just the third row is collapsed, however, you still get a generous 51.7 cubic feet for your crated pet. Plus, with the Rear Vision Camera and Rear Park Assist technology, you can safely back out of your driveway even if your dog is obstructing your rear windshield.

Suburban

If you have an extra large dog, go with the Suburban. It boasts a maximum cargo volume of 121.7 cubic feet, behind the driver and front-passenger seats. The cargo box height is 34.9 inches and the cargo area length is 100.3 from the back of the vehicle to just behind the front seats. This space will comfortably accommodate Great Danes, Deerhounds, and Mastiffs, among other giant breeds. Add on the floor liner and all-weather floor mat accessories to shield the floor of the SUV from dog hair and dirt.

The Cruze is the most compact Chevy that still gets high marks for pet-friendliness. The hatchback version of the model supplies 47.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the rear seats down. And the low ride height makes it easier for pets with arthritis or joint problems to enter and exit the car. Lastly, a rear liftgate makes loading and unloading crates or carriers more convenient.
