RV/MH Hall of Fame

Explore Elkhart’s RV/MH Hall of Fame, a 100,000-square-foot museum that preserves the history of RVs and motor homes. The oldest model is the 1913 Earl Travel Trailer, though you can also view model years as recent as the 80s. You can also learn when key events in RV history occurred, such as the first built-in toilet and the first microwave oven.

World’s Largest Ball of Paint

Stop by Alexandria to add a paint layer to the World’s Largest Ball of Paint. This artifact originated in 1977 when a local resident and his young son started covering a baseball with paint layers. Per the attraction’s website, make sure to call ahead to schedule an appointment to paint the ball before you actually visit.

The Hubcap Lady

Located in Jeffersonville near Quartermaster Station, a metal structure known as “The Lady” is one of Indiana’s gems worth visiting. Originally constructed as part of a multi-piece artwork dubbed “Winds of Change,” this statue pays homage to women around the world.

Shoe Tree

As its name implies, this shoe-covered tree can be found in Milltown. No one knows exactly when this attraction came into being, but local legend claims that Indiana basketball legend Larry Bird has a pair of shoes on this tree. Now, adding shoes to the tree has become a Milltown tradition that many residents participate in.
