5 Must-Have Items to Help Spring Clean Your Car

Leather Seats

Leather cleaner

Wiping down your seats in an important part of cleaning your car’s interior, but if you have leather seats, they could probably use a more beneficial treatment every few months. Using a leather-specific cleaner will help get any built up dirt and grime off of your seats while hydrating and nourishing the leather.

Hand duster

This is a great one to keep in your car. Pick up one of those quick dusters with a handle, or a microfiber cloth, and store it with your window scrapers. As dust begins to gather on your dashboard, you can reach into the backseat and with one quick swipe, your car looks as good as new.

Dust buster

Different than your regular duster, a dust buster is a handheld vacuum that will help you clean out the smaller areas of your car. For example, if you or your family members tend to eat fast food in your car, there may be a few stray french fries under the seats. Use the dust buster to get to those hard-to-reach places to clean. If you have room in your car, you can store the dust buster in the trunk for everyday messes.

Trash can

Surprisingly, most cars still do not come with any type of trash can or other compartment to put waste items. Purchasing an aftermarket trash receptacle can be helpful, or you can make your own using an empty cereal Tupperware container. Just add a small trash bag to the inside, pop the lid on, and you have a resealable, portable trash can for your car.

Air freshener

Once you’ve cleaned your car up and it’s spick and span, it’s nice to add an extra touch of your favorite scent. The best air fresheners pop into your air vents. That way, every time you turn the heat or air conditioning on, the scent moves throughout the cabin. Plus, you won’t have to worry about an air freshener dangling from the rear view mirror in your line of vision. You can purchase pre-made car air fresheners, or you can make your own by putting a few drops of essential oils onto a clothespin and clipping them to your vents.
