The 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe crossover has been completely redesigned for the new model year. It features a new look, new technology, and new positioning in the Hyundai lineup. For 2019, the five-passenger Santa Fe Sport from 2018 is now just the Santa Fe — Hyundai has discontinued the Sport name. Meanwhile, the seven-passenger Santa Fe from 2018 is now the Santa Fe XL.
Newly dynamic, athletic lines and a wide stance characterize the interior of the 2019 Santa Fe. From the front, the new signature Hyundai cascading grille and LED lighting provide a unique look. Inside the Santa Fe, the revised layout provides more visibility, improved comfort, and better sound-absorbing capabilities. The new Santa Fe also offers 2 additional cubic feet of passenger volume and an extra 1.5 inches of second-row legroom.
America’s Best Warranty: Extended coverage demonstrates Hyundai’s commitment to quality and reliability
The 2019 Santa Fe provides several newly standard safety features. These include blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and a Safe Exist Assist system that detects approaching vehicles to protect passengers leaving the vehicle. Lane keeping assist, smart cruise control, and forward-collision avoidance systems are also standard.
For 2019, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come with the standard 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system. New available features include a Heads-Up Display, AVN 5.0 navigation with 8-inch display, Qi wireless charging, and a 12-speaker premium sound system.
The 2019 Santa Fe’s powertrain options are fairly similar to the ones offered for the 2018 Santa Fe Sport. The one major change is a new eight-speed automatic transmission that replaces the old six-speed. It’s designed to shift faster and perform more efficiently.
