Nearly a decade after the launch of the original Urus, Lamborghini has continued to evolve its first SUV. The model initially debuted with a twin-turbocharged V8 before expanding into the higher-performance Performante variant. In 2024, the company introduced the updated Urus SE equipped with a plug-in hybrid system.

The latest Urus SE Performante builds on that platform by retaining the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 plug-in hybrid powertrain while increasing its output and introducing several mechanical and aerodynamic upgrades aimed at improving performance on both road and track.

Increased Output Makes It the Quickest Urus Yet

The Urus SE Performante delivers 800 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. That represents an increase of 11 horsepower and 37 pound-feet over the standard Urus SE.

Lamborghini states that these figures allow the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 194 mph, making it the fastest super-SUV in the world by the manufacturer’s measure.

The powertrain combines the twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 with a synchronous electric motor powered by a 25.9-kilowatt-hour battery. The battery is positioned beneath the load floor to improve the vehicle’s center of gravity and enables an electric-only driving range of up to 37 miles.

Power is managed through an eight-speed transmission that has been recalibrated to improve response times and reduce torque lag. The drivetrain also includes an all-wheel-drive system with an electronically controlled center clutch.

Suspension and Chassis Upgrades Target Improved Handling

The Urus SE Performante receives an upgraded dual-chamber air suspension designed to improve cornering performance. Body roll has been reduced by 55 percent compared with the standard Urus SE, while body vibrations are reduced by 25 percent.

Lamborghini also reports that the SUV is 6 percent quicker when maneuvering and delivers a 12 percent faster reaction time. Grip improves by up to 6 percent thanks to new Pirelli P Zero tires available in 22-inch and 23-inch sizes.

Carbon Fiber and Aerodynamic Revisions Reduce Weight

The new Performante incorporates extensive carbon fiber components on the hood, roof, side skirts, and other areas, reducing overall weight by 70 pounds compared with the standard Urus SE.

The Akrapovič exhaust system, featuring a lightweight muffler and tailpipes, removes an additional 22 pounds. The Integrated Power Brake system cuts another 8.8 pounds, while an updated NVH package reduces weight by a further 7.3 pounds. The Urus SE Performante has a total curb weight of 5,452 pounds.

Aerodynamic revisions also distinguish the new model. Total aerodynamic drag is reduced by 3 percent compared with the Urus SE. Downforce increases by 16 percent over the previous Performante and by 23 percent over the standard Urus SE. A carbon fiber spoiler and revised diffusers are intended to improve high-speed stability, while a wider front end enhances battery cooling and airflow. Brake cooling efficiency is also improved by 8 percent.
