When it comes to the world of automobiles, much of the spotlight right now is focused on the 2017 North American International Auto Show, but there’s another car show across the Atlantic that’s about to kick off and it’s one of the most popular in all of Europe.

The show we’re alluding to is Autosport International 2017. This is Europe’s largest indoor pre-season motorsport event and it will be taking place from Jan. 12-15 at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, England. What makes this show unique is that two days are for trade only and then another two days are open to the general public.

To celebrate the 27th anniversary of this popular car show, Abarth will be displaying some of its products in Hall 20, Stand 2660, the most popular of which will be the Abarth 124 Rally. This hard-top rally car has been specially tuned by Abarth and it comes already prepared for the racetrack.

This model is quite different than the 2017 Fiat Abarth 124 Spider available in the United States. That’s because the Abarth 124 Spider comes from the factory with a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine rated at 164 mph, while the Abarth 124 Rally features a direct-inject dual overhead camshaft engine good for up to 300 horsepower. Furthermore, the Abarth 124 Rally comes equipped with a six-speed sequential transmission with paddle shifters, mechanical self-locking differential, and even more advanced racing technology.

Besides showing its high-tech sports car, Abarth’s stand at Autosport International 2017 will also feature a couple of Elaboration kits, which contain a number of advanced features that can boost the performance of the Abarth 595.

“Abarth and Autosport International are a perfect match,” said Abarth UK Brand Manager Gerry Southerington. “Autosport International is the ideal venue to launch our new Elaboration kits and we are really pleased to be able to offer visitors the opportunity to get behind the wheel of an Abarth 595 in our Autotest.”
