April Corvette Sales Are Up 260 Percent. Yes, really.
We all know that the 2014 Corvette Stingray is a living legend. It’s won enough awards in the last few months to fill a Hummer, and it’s got the stuff under the hood to back up its distinctions. Even so, we normally wouldn’t expect to see an ultra gigantic spike in sales, at least not half a year after the Stingray hit dealership lots. But believe it or not, April Corvette sales shot up a whopping 260 percent over sales of the Corvette in April 2013.

Reportedly, Chevy only moved 974 Corvettes last April, but this year’s April saw 3,514 Corvettes drive off dealer lots. This crazy high amount is actually pretty darn close to the C7’s first month of sales in October, when dealerships moved 4,000 units.
The Corvette had a 27 day inventory on hand last month, meaning it was and still is in short supply because of such high demand. As of the end of April, Chevy has already sold 11,693 units this year. Compare that to the end of April in 2013, when Chevy had only sold 3,915 in the first four months, a 198.7 percent increase year over year.

Sales are expected to remain strong into the 2015 model year, when Chevy will add the Z06 and its convertible variant to the Corvette lineup.
