SAIC-General Motors-Wuling has released the all-new Baojun 310 hatchback, a vehicle that boasts a deft combination of efficiency, functionality, spaciousness, and technological savvy. Offered in four different trims, the Baojun 310 has been priced between RMB 36,800 ($5,521) and RMB 49,800 ($7,472).

The Baojun 310 is set to offer the longest wheelbase in its class at 2,550 mm (100.4 inches), which will likely bolster its popularity among Chinese consumers. It will also appeal to consumers with a pleasing exterior design that includes powerful bodylines, a commanding profile, and the Baojun brand’s trademark double-U-shaped grille.

On the inside, the Baojun 310 offers rear-seat-width of 1,233 mm (48.5 inches) and 60/40 split-folding rear seats with fold-flat functionality that provide for up to 1,000 liters (35 cubic feet) of cargo space. Stylistically, the Baojun 310 gets dual-color leather seats, a black center console that holds an 8-inch LCD screen with Bluetooth compatibility, and a power sunroof. Other features include chrome accents on all gauges and air-conditioning vents, double-stitching on side panels and arm rests, and a floating multi-function steering wheel.

The Baojun 310 will be powered by a new 1.2-liter P-TEC naturally aspirated engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission, delivering 60.3 kW max power (81 horsepower) and 116 Nm of max torque (86 lb-ft of torque) while returning fuel efficiency of 5.3 liters/100 km (or roughly 44 mpg).

Safety-wise, the Baojun 310 is offered with Electric Power Steering, reverse radar and backup camera, ISOFIX child safety seat mountings, and anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution.
