The Buick Encore experienced a substantial sales boost at the end of last year

In the fourth quarter of 2019, GM saw Buick Encore sales increase by an impressive 22 percent in the United States. The luxury brand continues to thrive amidst competition from other companies, seeing strong sales for its premier models. The Encore currently ranks in the top four best-selling subcompact crossovers on the market.

The numbers behind the Buick Encore sales increase
During the last three months of 2019, Buick Encore deliveries within the U.S. totaled 28,497 individual units. This is an obvious increase from the 23,326 units sold during those same three months in 2018. This Buick Encore sales increase was a positive end to a strong overall year of sales for the model. The complete 2019 calendar year saw Encore sales increase by roughly 10 percent, with 102,402 units sold.
The Encore experienced strong sales in other North American markets, as well. Canadian deliveries totaled 2,440 units in the fourth quarter of 2019, resulting in a 4-percent increase over the 2,346 units sold during those same three months in 2018. Mexican sales totaled 377 units, an increase of roughly 15 percent.
The Encore’s advantages
This Buick Encore sales increase is part of a recent upsurge in sales within the subcompact mainstream crossover segment. Models like the Encore experienced a sales increase of 9.4 percent in the fourth quarter of 2019, with 214,980 units delivered. The Encore’s 22-percent increase outpaced the segment average, making its success even more impressive.
The Encore was also unaffected by last year’s 40 day-long UAW strike during Q4 2019. Since the vehicle’s production takes place in Korea, its supply chain was uninterrupted, giving it an advantage over other vehicles produced by GM.

With its 22-percent increase in sales, the Buick Encore finished the year strong. With the all-new Buick Encore GX on the horizon, it’s possible the now-outgoing Encore might never experience sales this strong again.
