Camo-Themed 2016 Chevy Silverado Realtree Edition Introduced
Today GM revealed the 2016 Chevy Silverado Realtree Edition, an outdoorsy special edition of the popular Silverado 1500 that features camouflage graphics from Realtree. It’s the culmination of a decade-long partnership between Chevrolet and Realtree, the world’s leading camouflage brand, and is also the automaker’s most redneck-friendly Silverado variation since Kid Rock’s acid-washed 3500HD.
“The capability of Chevy trucks has always enabled customers to go where they want to go and that’s the inspiration for the new Silverado Realtree Edition,” said Chevy Truck Marketing director Sandor Piszar. “Personalized for the outdoorsman, this great-looking, very capable Silverado offers another choice for customers looking for a truck with style, capability and dependability.”
The Realtree Edition package will be offered on Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 crew cab models beginning this spring, and will feature exterior camo graphics and front-seat headrests embroidered with the Realtree logo. The Realtree camo logo and graphics will appear on some interior elements, as well. A special blackout trim, black bow ties, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, and off-road assist steps are also featured on the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition.
The vehicle will also be equipped with the Z71 off-road package, which includes Rancho monotube shocks, Hill Descent Control, the G80 auto locking rear differential, and an underbody shield.
“Working with the team at Chevrolet on this new Realtree Edition Silverado really brought home to me just how important the right truck is for outdoor enthusiasts,” said Realtree Designer and President Bill Jordan. “You just don’t realize how much goes into building a true performance vehicle until you look behind the scenes. The men and women at Chevy truly delivered on this project. This truck has the perfect combination of features, comfort and safety – whether you’re driving around town, on the highway or off road.”
No pricing information has yet been made available, but more details should be revealed soon, considering the Realtree Edition launches in spring of this year.
