Changan Ford Transmission Plant one-millionth transmission

The Changan Ford Transmission Plant this month celebrated the production of its 1 millionth transmission at a special event attended by various company executives, leaders, and employees.

The Changan Ford Transmission Plant is the second largest production base behind Michigan, and its historical tendencies to provide exceptional products at fast speeds and high volumes has earned it a number of awards up to and including the distinction of being named a Ford Global Five Star Plant.

Among those on-hand to celebrate the monumental transmission were Nigal Harris, President of Changan Ford Automobile, and He Chaobing, Executive Vice President of Changan Ford Automobile.

“Every team member should be very proud of achieving these accomplishments over a short period of time,” said Harris. “Not only is it imperative to have advanced products, processing and quality standards, but excellent team work is of the most importance. I have full confidence that CAFTP can meet any challenge it may face, and keep its promise to provide quality products for our consumers.”

“I want to thank and congratulate the teams at CAFTP. know everyone here will continue to cooperate with the CAF functional support teams to maintain the integrity and quality of every transmission we make,” said Chaobing. “We will work to be the best in Ford, the best in field and will aim to fully achieve the company’s operation targets on schedule.”

Changan Ford Transmission Plant currently supplies products for both Ford Vehicle Operations in Dearborn, Michigan and the Saarlouis plant in Germany. In 2017, the plant is expected to begin supplying products to CAF’s new plant in Harbin and the Camacari plant in Brazil, which would drive annual output past 800,000 units.
