Chevrolet Colorado Diesel Coming This Fall
The Chevrolet Colorado has taken the truck world by storm this year by winning awards like 2015 Motor Trend Truck of the Year and having great months in sales. It is a great vehicle that allows drivers to have the versatility of a pickup truck without the hulking size. What could make this truck even better?
A diesel engine, that’s what.
Starting this autumn, select the 2016 Chevrolet Colorados will be on dealership lots and assembly lines with a diesel engine under the hood. According to GM, the starting price point for this truck will be around $31,000. This base price is for the 4×2 crew cab, and is almost $4,000 more than the traditional unleaded gasoline engine.
According to Jalopnik, GM chose a 2.8-liter Duramax engine that should produce 369 lb-ft of torque and 181 hp. Diesel engine buyers will also get a standard trailering package to help them pull their trailer, camper, or boat.
We’re excited that the Colorado will make driving a small truck even more fuel efficient and powerful. What vehicle would you like to see get a diesel option next?
