Chevrolet Named J.D. Power’s Most Awarded Brand of 2017
With nine honors for its vehicles, Chevrolet is officially J.D. Power’s most awarded brand of 2017.
J.D. Power made the announcement this week ahead of the National Association of Auto Dealers Convention.
In 2017, six Chevy SUVs, trucks, and cars garnered nine awards in J.D. Power’s Vehicle Dependability, Initial Quality, and APEAL studies.
“These awards highlight the automotive brands that are continually exceeding customer expectations and leading the way in terms of dependability, quality, and overall customer satisfaction,” J.D. Power said in a statement.

- The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic, Camaro, Tahoe, and Silverado HD came out on top in the J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study. This study tracks reliability by looking at problems that crop up for three-year-old vehicles.
- The Chevrolet Sonic, Silverado, and Silverado HD were awarded in the Initial Quality Study. This study examines issues that buyers encounter during the first 90 days they own their new vehicle.
- The Chevrolet Bolt and Tahoe were winners in the Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout Study (APEAL). This study measures the excitement level and emotional attachment of owners for their vehicles.
Chevy and its dealers also scored high in two other J.D. Power studies: the Customer Service Index Study, which measures customer satisfaction with maintenance and repairs, and the Sales Satisfaction Index Study, which tracks customers’ experiences buying a new vehicle.
“Chevrolet is winning with consumers because our designers, engineers, and dealers are focused on delivering great products and a great ownership experience,” said Alan Batey, president of GM North America. “This recognition from J.D. Power shows Chevrolet’s strength and underscores the momentum we have across the board.”
