Chevy Equinox Earns Spot on US News’ List of 12 Compact SUVs with the Most Cargo Room
If you’re hesitant to commit to a full-size SUV, but really want ample cargo space an SUV supplies, you need to consider a compact SUV. Despite its smaller stature, a compact SUV like the Chevy Equinox delivers a good amount of cargo space for your gear, groceries or your kids’ school stuff. Just as the editors at U.S. News & World Report — they just included the 2020 Chevy Equinox on its list of the 12 Compact SUVs with the Most Cargo Room.

“The Equinox’s regular cargo capacity is on the low side, at just 29.9 cubic feet. However, folding down the rear row opens up a total of 63.9 cubic feet or room and there’s a bit of extra space tucked away beneath the load floor. A hands-free power tailgate is an option here, too,” reports U.S. News & World Report writer Cherise Threewitt.
The 2020 Equinox accommodates five, and when properly equipped, it can tow a maximum of 3,500 pounds. It earns an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2020 Equinox a 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score for Safety. It is equipped with advanced driver assist technologies as standard features including Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, and Forward Collision Alert. A Rear Vision Camera is also standard while Adaptive Cruise Control – Camera, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Rear Park Assist, and Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert are available features.
