While many automakers offer significant discounts on models around New Year’s, others provide sales incentives a bit later. GMC, for instance, has been offering a 19-percent discount on certain Sierra 1500 models this month. Now, Chevrolet has just announced even more savings for those who purchase a certain version of the new 2019 Silverado 1500.

Details about the discount

Earlier this month, Chevrolet offered a lower discount on the 2019 Silverado Crew Cab All Star: $5,033. This total included a $500 option package discount, $1,500 loyalty purchase cash, and $3,033 price reduction below MSRP.

Now, the total discount on this version of the Silverado amounts to $6,505. This total includes a $1,000 option package discount, $2,500 loyalty purchase cash, and $3,005 price reduction below MSRP.

Possible reasons for the increased incentives

Right now, no one really knows exactly why Chevy has upped the total incentives for this version of the 2019 Silverado 1500. Maybe the brand is trying to proactively jumpstart 2019 sales for this model, in light of last year’s decrease in Silverado sales during the fourth quarter. Another idea is that the manufacturer is simply trying to make the Silverado more appealing to consumers and draw them away from rival models from brands like Ford and Ram.

Whatever the case, the raised discount is just another great reason to bring home this handsome truck. And winter is the perfect season to purchase a 2019 Silverado 1500. Autotrader recently named this bad boy to its 10 Coolest Cars for Winter 2019 list. The Autotrader staff was particularly impressed with the truck’s Z71 off-road package, which the brand offers on the  Custom Trail Boss and LT Trail Boss trims. This package includes helpful technology and equipment — such as all-terrain tires, hill descent control, skid plates, off-road suspension, and a locking rear differential — to improve stability on slick winter roads.
