Stunning performance specs

Per GM Authority, GM has credited the 2020 Stingray as the quickest in the model’s history. Until now, we knew that this car could go from a standstill to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds when equipped with the available Z51 Performance Package. We also knew that the base version could churn out 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, while the performance exhaust add-on upped that vitality to 495 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

Now, we know that the Corvette C8 — when equipped with the Z51 Performance Package and traveling at 121 mph — can complete the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds. Without the package, it completes this distance in the same period of time when traveling just 2 mph faster.

To tap into the full potency that the 2020 Corvette offers, simply put the vehicle into Track mode. This means pressing the traction button, then fully depressing the brake and accelerator pedal simultaneously. Lastly, ease off the brake pedal as soon as the car reaches 3,500 RPM.

Chevy expresses pride at the 2020 Corvette’s nimbleness

Apparently, the 2020 Corvette has surpassed even the brand’s expectations, as Chevrolet vehicle performance manager Alex MacDonald articulates. “Moving more weight over the rear wheels helps us get off the line quicker, but it’s the integration between the powertrain and chassis that really takes the performance to new levels.”
