2019 Chevrolet Silverado High CountryIf you’re in the market for a new vehicle, it’s wise to consider your chosen model’s predicted depreciation rate. That way, you can get the best value when you eventually trade it in for a new model. Per iSeeCars.com’s Cars With the Lowest and Highest Depreciation list, the Chevy Silverado 1500 is one of the top 10 vehicles that had the lowest average 5-year depreciation rate (39.7 percent, to be exact).

This rating also caused it to rank fourth within the pickup truck segment. Interestingly enough, the study also indicated the two top metro areas with the lowest Silverado depreciation ratings: Minneapolis-St. Paul and Sacramento.

About the study

When compiling the lists, iSeeCars.com analyzed more than 3.6 million new vehicles from model year 2013 sold in 2013. It also evaluated more than 750,000 used vehicles from the same model year sold between January and September of 2018. The fact that the Chevy Silverado 1500 claimed a spot in the top contenders speaks to the brand’s reputation for building quality vehicles with a timeless design.
