Chevy Supplies Silverados and Suburbans for Wreaths Across America
Chevrolet is paying tribute to our nation’s military heroes next week by supporting Wreaths Across America, an organization that seeks to place over 700,000 wreaths on military cemeteries across the United States.
Chevrolet is aiding the non-profit by providing a fleet of vehicles, including specially decorated Silverado pickups and Suburban SUVs, which will lead the Wreaths Across America trip from its headquarters in Maine to the Arlington National Cemetery in DC. The weeklong journey will begin on Sunday, December 6th, and conclude the following Saturday, December 12th.
Along the way, Chevy dealers, employees, and volunteers will donate over 13,000 wreaths to the cause, and assist the organization as it stops at schools and community centers to teach America’s youth about the sacrifices made by our service men and women.
“We think it is so important to teach our younger generation that our freedoms are not free, and that the stories of our fallen and departed heroes should not be lost through the years,” said Chevrolet regional sales and marketing manager Dan Adamcheck. “Laying those wreaths and paying tribute is a small way to show how grateful we are.”
In 1992, Maine businessman Morrill Worcester began placing wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery with a small group of volunteers. Since then, Wreaths Across America has become a national grassroots movement that helps citizens remember our fallen heroes during the holiday season.
