When you invest in a car, especially a family-friendly SUV designed to handle everyday commutes, epic road trips, and every journey in-between while providing ample space for your crew, you want your investment to go the distance. Reliability is key to an SUV you can trust, and two Chevy models are worth your consideration — the 2018 Chevy Tahoe and 2018 Chevy Traverse. Both models were recently named to U.S. News & World Report’s list of the 18 Most Reliable 3-Row SUVs in 2018.

“The Tahoe features an attractive interior, a cushioned ride, and a healthy list of available active safety technologies. In addition, the Tahoe delivers ample power and gets good fuel economy estimates for a truck-based SUV,” writes U.S. News & World Report writer Steven Loveday.

The 2018 Chevy Tahoe is available at three trim levels: LS, LT, and Premier, all of which can be configured with 2WD or 4WD. The standard 5.3-liter V8 paired to an electronically-controlled six-speed automatic transmission generates 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The Tahoe delivers 23 mpg on the highway. A 6.2-liter V8 is also available.

2018 Chevrolet Traverse

The 2018 Chevy Traverse, which earned the pub’s title of 2018 Best 3-Row SUV for Families, is available at six trim levels: L, LS, LT Cloth, LT Leather, Premier, and High Country. The High Country trim level is only available with all-wheel drive. A 310 horsepower-rated 3.6-liter V6 engine paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission powers each trim of the 2018 Traverse.

“The midsize SUV provides an expansive cargo area and roomy, versatile seating for up to eight people. The Traverse also comes with a healthy list of standard tech features, is less expensive than many competing vehicles, and offers a more exciting ride than you might expect,” writes Loveday.
