Chinese-Exclusive Buick Excelle GT Revealed
Buick has released the first images of its Chinese-market-only Excelle GT, and it’s looking pretty slick.
With a new front and rear fascia and various interior appointments, the Excelle GT carries on stylistic flair first put forth by the Buick Riviera II concept car.
The interior comes with a color touchscreen interface in the center stack and the typical 360-degree wraparound cabin look, now including increased head and knee room and an abundance of wood and aluminum trim details.

For the first time, Buick will make the Excelle GT available with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which will be offered with the 140-horsepower 1.4-liter turbo-four. The 113-horsepower 1.5-liter four-cylinder will be available with a six-speed DSS.
GM also promises superior handling with a new independent rear suspension underpinning a body made of 65% high-strength steel, as well as numerous segment-best and exclusive technologies such as LED daytime running lights and a PM2.5 air filter to keep the air within the Excelle GT decidedly not-smog-like.
GM will begin building the Excelle GT at its Wuhan plant sometime very soon. We shall see if any of the touches visited upon this China exclusive find their way into the Buick Verano.
