Corvette Museum Gears Up to Host Hot Wheels Exhibit
While the Corvette Museum in Bowling Greene, Kentucky may be a dream destination for auto enthusiasts, the hands-off nature of most of its exhibits may not hold the attention spans of younger kids. However, the auto museum is set to launch a family-friendly summer exhibit featuring the beloved Hot Wheels line of toy cars.

Hot Wheels: Race to Win
The new special feature, entitled “Hot Wheels: Race to Win”, provides kids with a hands-on educational experience. Drawing upon its audience’s love of toy cars and friendly competition, the exhibit seeks to introduce youngsters to the basics of vehicle design and engineering. Kids will also have the chance to interact with genuine race car parts, learn about motorsports history, and view artifacts from Corvette history — including some of the museum’s most prized models.
The National Corvette Museum states that the exhibit invites families to become part of a race team that builds and tests the fastest and safest race cars on the road — as well as their tiny die-cast counterparts. Kids will be able to burn off some energy with the Pit Stop Challenge, which lets visitors race the clock to change tires and refuel prop vehicles. And for kids who love tinkering with their toys, the exhibit offers a series of racetracks where guests can race different Hot Wheels die-cast models against one another. Kids will be encouraged to test their hypotheses and discover which car features provide the best performance under various conditions. Taken together, the exhibit aims to give you and your youngsters a behind-the-scenes look at the scientific methods and processes that engineers use to create real-life supercars.
The “Hot Wheels: Race to Win” exhibit will open just before Memorial Day Weekend on May 27. It will run throughout the summer and close on Sept. 22. Until then, it’ll be a fun, educational way for gearhead families to spend a rainy day.
