Customized Jeff Gordon Chevy SS Wows at 2013 SEMA Show
The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, held annually in Las Vegas, might be our favorite auto show of the year. Automakers display customized and concept vehicles that you can’t see any other time of the year, and one such vehicle from Chevrolet was particularly impressive – the Jeff Gordon Chevy SS.
According to the description of the custom vehicle from Chevy’s press release: “With input from the No. 24 driver himself, Chevrolet designers restyled the all-new SS to reflect Gordon’s style and the performance credentials of the brand’s all-new, rear-wheel-drive performance sedan.”
What makes the Jeff Gordon Chevy SS so intriguing and so authentic-feeling is that it’s a vehicle we could very easily see Gordon himself driving. The satin exterior finish is nice to look at, but it isn’t at all overwhelming, and the personalization is subtle, yet noticeable. Of course, there are No.24 graphics throughout the vehicle; the custom front grille and 20-inch wheels don’t hurt either.
And you can bet Jeff Gordon wouldn’t sign off on a vehicle without a substantial amount of power under the hood. The SEMA-exclusive concept SS is powered by the LS3 6.2-liter V8 that pumps out 415 horsepower and 415 lb.-ft. of torque. With that kind of power, it’s little wonder that this NASCAR legend lent his seal of approval.
What do you think of the Jeff Gordon Chevy SS?
