You’re too late: the bidding for Junior’s 1955 Chevy Bel Air and 1999 Corvette ended this morning

Last week, we reported that NASCAR racer Dale Earnhardt Jr. had taken to eBay to sell his 1955 Chevy Bel Air and 1999 Corvette, with a bonus meet-and-great and autograph from Junior himself promised to the winning bidders.

At the time (January 19th), bidding for the ’55 Bel Air had gotten up to $78,988.88, while the ’99 Vette was a comparative bargain at just $36,100. Well, both cars sold for a little bit more than that when the auction closed Monday morning at 10:00 am.

The Bel Air ultimately went for an impressive $90,100, while the Corvette’s price more than doubled, selling for $77,000. It’s unknown if the buyers are going to take Junior up on his offer to personally hand over the keys and sign the vehicle itself; but if they’re true fans, it’s hard to imagine they’d turn down such an offer.

The most unusual part of this story was that Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s Bel Air didn’t have any miles on the odometer when he auctioned it off. Hopefully the car’s new owner will have some fun changing that.
