General Motors has announced that, effective July 1st, Dhivya Suryadevara will succeed Niharika Taskar Ramdev as GM Vice President, Finance and Treasurer. Taskar Ramdev is leaving the position to accept her new role as Chief Financial Officer of GM International.

In the role of GM VP, Finance and Treasurer, Suryadevara will direct treasury operations; participate in business development, risk management, and investor relations; and lead GM International’s finance team. GM International, the automaker’s operational segment, generates $14 billion in annual revenue across 100 markets including India, Africa, and the Middle East.

Suryadevara has been with GM since 2004, most recently serving as CEO and chief investment officer of GM Asset Management. Despite her new appointment, Suryadevara will continue her current responsibilities for GM Asset Management.

Taskar Ramdev has been with GM since 1996, and she was most recently named to the position of VP, Finance and Treasure in April 2014.

“Dhivya’s experience in leading our asset management team will serve her well in this important role for the company,” said Chuck Stevens, GM executive vice president and chief financial officer. “I’m confident that she will build on the great work the team has accomplished under Niharika’s leadership. Niharika has done an excellent job over the past year as we improved our investment grade ratings and introduced a comprehensive capital allocation framework.”
