Will Smith voices Lance Sterling, a super spy who drives an Audi vehicle

If you’re a Marvel fan, you’ve seen several Audi vehicles make appearances on the big screen, either being driven by Tony Stark or random S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. But have you seen a digitally animated Audi in a movie yet? Well, you’ll have the chance to see just that if you go to the theater on Christmas Day to see Spies in Disguise.

Owning an Audi: What are the perks of purchasing an Audi vehicle?

The film is loosely based on a 2009 animated short called Pigeon: Impossible by Lucas Martell, in which a rookie CIA agent gets tangled up with a troublesome pigeon. However, the events are a little different in Spies in Disguise. Lance Sterling (voiced by Will Smith) is a mega famous, ultra-cool spy known for his flashy lifestyle. When the world is in danger, Sterling turns to young scientist and go-to gadget guy Walter Beckett (Tom Holland) for help. But when Sterling ingests one of Walter’s inventions, things get a little difficult for the spy.

Did you catch that Audi e-tron in the trailer? Well, it’s not really the Audi e-tron that we all know and love here in the real world. It’s instead called the Audi RSQ e-tron, a sports car alternative of the all-electric SUV. It also has a lot more futuristic features than the Audi e-tron SUV, including a digital heads-up display and a fully autonomous driving mode. Oh, and did you see that J-turn that swooped up agent Sterling in the parking garage?

Award-Winning Brand: Audi 2.0 TFSI engine earns International Engine of the Year title

This isn’t the first time Will Smith has co-starred with an Audi. In I, Robot, he shared the screen with what was also called the RSQ, which was actually a preview of what would eventually be the Audi R8 supercar. So will this animated Audi RSQ e-tron get turned into an actual vehicle? We sure hope so. Audi definitely has the potential to bring something like this to an upcoming auto show, at the very least, to showcase its self-driving innovations.
