Many drivers these days are considering buying an electric vehicle. These drivers are tired of buying expensive fuel and are usually concerned with their vehicles’ environmental impact. Indeed, today people have become much more aware of the future of their children, and how polluting combustion engines can be.

Significant Stock Increases

The benefit of electric cars to the environment has been studied multiple times, and appear in articles and scholarly notes on sites such as However, few of these articles explain the options you have when trying to buy an electrically powered vehicle.

Recent statistics show that consumers are currently offered the choice of more than 50 electric vehicles, including 25 battery-powered cars, 26 plug-in hybrid vehicles, and 3 fuel cell models. As before, Tesla remains the flagship of the US market.

By rough calculations, Tesla sold more than 50,000 cars in the United States in 2017. These figures serve as a serious motivation for giants like BMW, Chevrolet, and Toyota to ramp up production. Supposedly, we’ll soon see more of their models coming off the assembly line.

  • General Motors has plans to release 20 electric vehicles by the end of 2023
  • Ford has strong intentions to show the world 13 new electric models by the year 2020

Electric motors are set to replace older combustion engines and thus bring some significant changes in the matters of environmental protection. The model range of electric cars is set to grow practically every year. And the more models we see on the streets, the more automakers are likely to join the market.
