First Chevrolet Bolt EV Delivered in UAE
Chevrolet introduced the United Arab Emirates to the Bolt EV at the 2017 Dubai International Motor Show, and demand for the efficient and stylish vehicle has only mounted ever since. In July, demand finally gave way to supply as the first Bolt EVs made their way to dealerships across the region.
The first Chevy Bolt EV delivered in the UAE was handed over to Saeed Obaid Juma Al Leem Al Ali last month. Saeed purchased the Bolt in an effort to lead a more sustainable life and do it with style.

“Having been a Chevrolet fan over the last few years, I always keep a close eye on their new model introductions, but the Chevrolet Bolt EV was one that I was particularly excited about due to its green credentials,” Saeed said. “This car is the product of exceptional electric engineering with zero compromise on performance or comfort, and I’m looking forward to finally driving it on the roads. I feel very strongly about investing in a more sustainable future, constantly making adjustments to my lifestyle, and the Chevrolet Bolt EV is a big step in the right direction.”
To help the first person to own a Bolt EV in the UAE with his ambitions to live a greener lifestyle, GreenParking, Chevrolet’s strategic partner, provided Saeed with a complimentary Level 2 Charger for his home. The charger will allow for faster fill-ups to ensure that the Bolt has a topped-up battery whenever it’s called upon.
The UAE government is accommodating the launch of the Chevrolet Bolt by offering free parking, free registration, free Salik tags, and free charging at any DEWA-approved station until the end of 2019. This is meant to encourage more drivers to follow Saeed’s example and move toward more sustainable choices.
