The 2018 Holden Equinox is not just bringing fun driving dynamics, versatility, and comfort to drivers, but also delicious food. This is not to say that the Equinox will be packed with foods—though it certainly could be if that was one’s wish—but rather that the launch of the Equinox has led to the creation of two new culinary partnerships.

Holden announced this week that, beginning next year, it will partner with Network Ten’s MasterChef Australia by positioning the new Equinox as the upcoming season’s official vehicle. This is the most exciting news about the 2018 season of MasterChef since it was confirmed that Gordon Ramsay himself will at last make an appearance as a guest chef. At the very least, if he tries to bully the Holden Equinox for, uh, being handsome, George Calombaris should have its back bumper.

“Equinox and MasterChef Australia are a great fit—whether road-tripping in an Equinox or cooking up a MasterChef-inspired storm in the kitchen, both bring families together,” said Holden Executive Director of Marketing Mark Harland.

Holden also announced that chef Adam D’Sylva has been named an Equinox ambassador. To celebrate, Holden on Wednesday held a special lunch with D’Sylva at his Tonka restaurant in Melbourne. Among the guests at the special affair were Luke Hines, Amy Lee, Cheryl Law, Ash Pollard, and Tasia and Gracia Serger.

“It is wonderful to be welcomed into the Holden family and to be recognized by such an iconic brand,” said D’Sylva. “Equinox is the ideal car for me and my family’s lifestyle. It’s a good-looking car, has a heap of technology features, and is very practical.”

“With Equinox we also want to celebrate people working at the top of their game, and Adam D’Sylva is certainly that,” added Harland. “Not only is he responsible for some of Australia’s best restaurants, Adam is also a big family man. In a nutshell—he inspires what Equinox is all about.

“We’re confident that both partnerships will help introduce Holden and Equinox to new audiences in 2018.”
