Ford is Europe’s No. 1 commercial brand, so it’s no surprise that it goes out of its way to innovate for small businesses. Its latest effort on this front is FordPass Pro, a new app that launched in Europe this week and will allow fleet operators to easily manage up to five vehicles at once.

“Time is precious for small business owners, which is why we focus on delivering simple technology solutions that we know will make a big difference,” said Richard Bunn, FordPass director, Ford Mobility Europe. “The new FordPass Pro app will help our customers spend less time managing their vehicles and more time making their business a success.”

With the FordPass Pro app, users will be able to check the location of their vehicles — which will also make it easier to find them in parking lots — remotely lock and unlock doors, and remotely start the engine. A vehicle health setting shows tire pressure, oil, and fuel levels, making it easier to keep track of a larger fleet and stay on top of scheduled maintenance needs.

The app is scheduled to be updated on a regular basis, with the first updates forthcoming. A new Guard Mode will use the embedded FordPass Connect modem to alert users of all activity in the vehicle, including when it is unlocked, and a Service Booking tool that makes scheduling maintenance appointments a breeze.

The FordPass Pro app is now available through the App Store and Google Play in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom. Additional markets will be added in the future, potentially including the United States.
