Girls Auto Clinic Starts Campaign for expansionA car repair business catered to women and staffed with female mechanics has been growing and succeeding in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, since late 2016. It’s called Girls Auto Clinic, and if you wish there was something like that closer to home, you could be in luck. The Girls Auto Clinic just launched an IndieGoGo crowdfunding campaign to help the company grow and demonstrate to investors that it’s ready to move to new communities.

If you’re a devoted reader of The News Wheel, you know that we’re pretty big fans of Girls Auto Clinic and its founder Patrice Banks. What started out as a series of classes to teach women about their own cars has grown into a successful business that lets women get their nails done while their car has its own maintenance performed. Banks herself has become a featured speaker at events like the National Council of the Girl Scouts of the USA, TEDx, and SXSW.

If you choose to contribute to the Girls Auto Clinic campaign, you can choose different supporter levels to earn some pretty cool swag, like signed copies of Patrice Banks’s Girls Auto Clinic Glove Box Guide, a #sheCANic shirt, car workshops, and one-on-one time with Banks herself. The goal of the campaign is to raise $100,000 to bring on the expertise that Girls Auto Clinic needs to expand their business prudently. The ability to raise capital like this from fans will also go a long way to showing other potential investors that a car shop run by women is a solid investment choice.

We encourage you to donate if you’re as big a fan of Patrice Banks and her groundbreaking business as we are. If you’re new to the party, consider checking out our review of the Glove Box Guide and coverage of Patrice’s time with the Girl Scouts late last year.
