Not only has GM filed a trademark application for the Enspire name. Earlier this month, it also filed an application to trademark the High Desert package. The application has the serial number 88220999, and claims the optoinal package will be “for motor vehicles, namel, trucks.”

Features of the new High Desert variation

According to the trademark application, the High Desert package will include a hard tonneau cover, power retractable assist steps, lighted side box storage, and a sport bar with a sail panel. This news is interesting, considering that GM filed for the package back in fall of 2014. It had a serial number of 86428475. Apparently, that application failed to get approved, as the current “abandoned” status in the USPTO system indicates.

Despite not securing a trademark in 2014, GM still offered the High Desert option on the K2 Silverado. The package gave the Silverado some of the cosmetic details of the Chevy Avalanche model, to appease fans that missed this discontinued product.

GM’s current, second application for the High Desert trademark shows it’s eagerness to secure the rights to this optional package for one of its new models. Per GM Authority, the new 2019 Silverado will receive the new High Desert package. It’s just one of the features to anticipate on the model in the coming year.
