Honda Supervisor in Georgia Featured in “Who Makes a Honda” video

Honda is continuing its “What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda” video series, which showcases a variety of associates from the wide range of fields encompassed by the global automotive brand. The most recent entry spotlights Mandy Wheeler-Brown, a production control supervisor at Honda Precision Parts of Georgia, LLC (HPPG) who begins her day at 4 am, and ends well after dark.

Don’t worry, Honda isn’t subjecting Mandy to any insane overtime demands—she just happens to be a farmer in addition to a production control supervisor. Mandy discusses her two very different jobs in the video below:

As she explains in the video above, Mandy’s work ethic came from growing up on a farm. In her personal life, she has also overcome a number of challenges, including a shark attack in the Gulf of Mexico as a college student that destroyed her dream of being an Olympic softball player.

“I struggled for a long time after the shark attack, but it made me appreciate what I have,” Wheeler-Brown she says. “I love what I do on the farm and I love working for Honda, so I am gaining from both sides.”

In addition to helping run a 600-acre cattle farm that she co-owns with her grandfather, Wheeler-Brown ensures high-quality production of transmissions for Honda and Acura products as part of her day job. She has been part of the Honda family since Honda Precision Parts of Georgia set up shop in her hometown nearly 11 years ago.

Wheeler-Brown is also passionate about supporting charities in her community, and even volunteered to shave her head if the company was able to raise enough money for Relay for Life.

“It was always important in my family to give back to our community and see what we could do to make it a better. I feel that spirit in my workplace at Honda as well,” Wheeler-Brown says.
