Honda Racing at Thunderhill Showcased in New Video
Honda’s 12-part What Makes a Honda is Who Makes a Honda video series usually focuses on one individual who helps in some stage of a Honda vehicle’s production, be it on the manufacturing line or in the engineering department. This month’s installment, however, is a little different—not only does it feature multiple people rather than just one Honda associate, but the thing they’re doing is… actually pretty interesting.
Not that learning about a Honda customer service rep’s job is boring, per se… it’s just that watching Team Honda Research-West (THR-W), a group made up of West Coast associates from different Honda facilities, is a little more exciting. That’s because we get to see the Acura ILXs that they drive in the National Auto Sport Association 25 Hours of Thunderhill race, the longest sports car endurance race in the US. Take a look:

Honda employees from Research & Development, sales, marketing, public relations, and other areas voluntarily compete as Team Honda Research. This video allows viewers to learn a little bit about those workers, and their passion for racing.
“Racing is very much a part of our DNA,” said Sage Marie, senior manager of Public Relations and co-driver of one of the THR-W Acuras. “It’s part of the fabric of our organization, so the associates here have that racing spirit in them.”
