Hyundai’s 2019 Veloster N and 2019 Kona Win KBB Best Buy Awards
Two Hyundai vehicles were recently honored with Best Buy Awards from Kelley Blue Book: the 2019 Veloster N and the 2019 Kona.
These annual awards from KBB honor the best vehicles in 15 different categories, based on quality, affordability, reliability, driving dynamics, comfort, and ownership costs. The 2019 Veloster N won in the performance car category and the 2019 Kona won in the subcompact SUV category.
“It is an honor to receive Kelley Blue Book Best Buy Awards for our new subcompact SUV and our first entry from the N performance division, demonstrating excellence across the lineup as Hyundai continues to expand its offerings,” said Hyundai Product Planning Director Scott Margason. “Kelley Blue Book is a valuable resource for prospective car buyers, and this prestigious award further demonstrates that Hyundai customers are making a smart choice.”

In awarding the Veloster N, KBB’s editors were especially impressed by its versatility. Yes, the Veloster N is an impressive performer, with quick acceleration, responsive steering, track-ready drive settings, and a 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder engine that delivers up to 275 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. But it’s also a fun, comfortable car for everyday driving. KBB cited the Veloster N’s value, too — even the higher Performance Package trim is priced under $30,000.
KBB praised the Kona for its mix of value, practicality, and fun-to-drive characteristics. Editors liked that the Kona offers multiple engine options, plenty of available amenities, and an intuitive user interface. The Kona also impressed with its generous array of standard safety technology, including forward-collision and lane-keeping features, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot collision warning, and parking assistance.
