If you’re a fan of Carpool Karaoke, maybe you’ve daydreamed about what road-tripping with celebrities such as Shawn Mendes, Kelly Clarkson, and Adam Levine would be like. While you may not have the luxury of having celebrities live-serenade your next trip, you CAN bring a bit of the show along with you on your travels this summer.

Meet Singing Machine’s Carpool Karaoke microphone. The company collaborated with CBS Consumer Products to create the show-inspired mic.

Mic features

The product connects to your vehicle’s audio system via Bluetooth wireless or AUX stereo cable, to suit different preferences. The mic also has independent volume and audio echo controls, as well as a rechargeable battery. Additionally, it has lights that flash in time with the music, to add more flair to your musical performance.

How to sync the mic with your vehicle

To start using the mic, you’ll need to follow some setup steps. First, turn on the car radio and scan the stations till you find an open one (i.e. one that isn’t streaming content). Next, turn on the mic and match the mic’s frequency setting to the car radio’s open frequency. At this point, you should hear your voice via the car’s speakers when you speak into the mic.

Use your smartphone to sync the mic via Bluetooth. Once connected, you should be able to stream songs from music apps like YouTube and Pandora. Some apps will even display song lyrics on the vehicle’s infotainment screen, so you can test out new songs on the fly.

Set for a summer release

Per Digital Trends, Singing Machine will release the new mic sometime this summer, though they have yet to reveal the exact date. In the meantime, you might want to hone your karaoke skills so you’ll be ready to ace your first use of the new microphone.
