Each year, Kelley Blue Book releases it’s Best Resale Value Awards list. This year’s results mark a first for the accolade since no sedans made the top 10 slots. Instead, trucks and SUVs dominated the rankings — and three GM models claimed three of them: the 2019 GMC Sierra, 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, and 2019 Chevrolet Colorado.

Buy with resale in mind

Purchasing one of the vehicles on the KBB’s top 10 list is a wise move if you want to save even more money than rebates and other incentives could provide. Per the KBB, any of the top 10 vehicles that made the list will give you an average 55-percent return if you decide to resell the model after 60 months of ownership. By contrast, the average new model will net you an average return of just 39 percent after a 60-month period.

Three GM trucks with excellent resale value

Though all three GM models that made the top 10 are rewarding choices, each of them yields slightly different resale value rates. If you’re unsure which truck to go with, these rates can help inform your final decision.

Per the KBB, the 2019 GMC Sierra model’s resale value is 62.2 percent at 36 months and 56.7 percent at 60 months. For the 2019 Chevy Silverado, KBB reports a resale value of 59.8 percent at 36 months and 53.7 percent at 60 months. Lastly, the KBB claims that the 2019 Chevy Colorado delivers a 59-percent resale value at 36 months and 50.9-percent one at 60 months.
