Since partnering with Kia about a year ago, K-pop group BLACKPINK has been working hard to sell out stadiums (and sell a few cars along the way). Their first official appearance with Kia was at the Seoul Motor Show in April to showcase its “Masterpiece” concept. Over the last four months, the Kia on Beat social profiles have been sharing photos of the group posing with Kia vehicles, including the Stinger and Soul. In a recent social media campaign, BLACKPINK is shown promoting the sporty Kia Seltos.

New for the States: Have you met the all-new Telluride?

Unfortunately, we don’t yet have the Seltos here in America. The subcompact SUV, whose name is derived from “Celtos,” the son of Hercules in Greek mythology, is currently available in India, where it debuted. The crossover was based on the SP Signature concept Kia unveiled alongside the Masterpiece concept in Seoul. The Korean brand is hoping to lure in more youthful buyers with a more athletic option to compete against models like the Ford EcoSport, Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, and Hyundai Kona. Getting the most successful K-pop girl group to promote it is definitely a good start.

In the 55-second video, the all-new Seltos is displayed in neon lighting while Rosé, Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie saunter around and sit inside the vehicle. We’re first shown the exterior design of the new Kia model, which features the signature Kia tiger nose grille, sharp LED lighting, and premium crystal cut alloy wheels. Once inside, we see the push-button ignition that revs the engine of the Seltos and the girls are off. The expansive touch-screen display shows standard tech features like Apple CarPlay and navigation, but one of the girls presses the “Sound Mood Lamp” button that controls the lighting that syncs with the Bose premium sound system.

Car and Driver noted that although the Seltos hasn’t made its way to the States yet, it would definitely receive plenty of love because of its sporty powertrain and appealing design. Here’s hoping Kia will let us Americans enjoy the exciting new Seltos!
