Maserati Premieres New Leather Interior and Customization Program in New York
Maserati brought its entire vehicle lineup to the 2019 New York International Auto Show, as well as two North American premieres.
It introduced a new “PELLETESSUTA” leather interior created by Ermenegildo Zegna as well as its new “ONE OF ONE” customization program. Clearly, one of the other things Maserati brought is the ability to unnecessarily capitalize entire words.
Still, both the interior and program are pretty cool. To start with Pelletessuta, this is the product of a longstanding partnership between Maserati and Zegna, which already provides silk interiors for the automaker. This time the leather is of the supple woven Nappa variety, which Maserati promises to be soft, luxurious, lightweight, comfortable, and beautiful, not to mention available on several models in the U.S. starting in the spring of 2020.

But if Pelletessuta interiors aren’t your taste, that’s where the ONE OF ONE customization program comes in. First unveiled in Geneva, the program allows individual customers to thoroughly customize their Maserati vehicles, with thousands of interior and exterior options at their disposal that govern everything from colors to materials to even “design inspiration.”
To show off just what you can do with the program, Maserati worked with two-time NBA champion Ray Allen to create a truly unique Levante GTS SUV featuring a “Blu Astro” tri-coat exterior with matte finish and chromatic effect, as well as a blue denim-inspired interior and special floor mats that are supposedly reminiscent of the strings of a basketball net and sneaker soles. And of course, Allen’s name is embroidered in the headrests.
